In order to keep the forums running well and to prevent problems, please follow these simple rules:

General Rules
  • This is a forum, not a chat room. Posts should contain content suitable for a forum. One line posts and quips are not proper forum posts. When asking a question, a post should contain additional information that might be helpful to someone who is trying to answer the question.
  • Stay on topic. Unless otherwise noted, all posts and replies should be related to the topic.
  • While debate and discussion are fine, we will not tolerate rudeness, insulting posts, personal attacks or purposeless inflammatory posts. Staff decisions are final in these matters.
  • Please refrain from posting meaningless threads.
  • Multiple or repeated posting in order to increase your post count is not allowed. This includes posting to "bump" a topic.
  • Advertising, spamming and/or trolling are not allowed. This includes using the forum, email, visitor messages, etc. to spam other members.
  • Search before asking questions.
  • We do not allow posts or links to sites that are sexual in nature or that violate our ethical standards.
  • Discussion of illegal activities and/or other intellectual property violations are not allowed.
  • Each member is allowed one login account. Registering with multiple accounts is not allowed. Only staff members are permitted multiple accounts, and then only for specific quality assurance purposes.
  • Discussion of competitive products should be conducted on sites dedicated to the comparison of games, not on this forum. While we are quite happy to have constructive comparative conversations about specific features, names of competing products and/or companies should not be used.
  • We reserve the right to remove and/or modify offensive posts without notice.
  • Non-English posts will be deleted.

While these rules cover most common situations, they cannot anticipate everything. Consequently we reserve the right to take any actions we deem appropriate to ensure these forums are not disrupted or abused in any way. Non-staff members are prohibited from making the following types of posts which will be removed and may result in the poster's account being restricted:
  • affiliate or referral links, or post anything asking for a referral
  • advertisements or notices for contests
  • confidential information, such as a support ticket

Access to our forums is a privelage, not a right. A forum ban does not necessarily mean that a user will be banned from the game, and vice-versa. Forum bans can be temporary or permanent as the forum administrators see fit. A banned customer is still entitled to support from the support system.

Subforum Rules
In addition to the above forum rules, subforums may have additional rules. When present, these rules will be posted as an announcement in the subforum with the title "Forum Rules (Subforum Name) last updated MM/DD/YYYY".

TOU and EULA Violations
We do not allow posts that would violate the Terms of Use and/or End User License Agreement of the Wayward Souls™ game and game service.

Links to external sites
Posts containing links to external sites should use some simple common sense practices. For example, don't link to our competition or to any sites that contain malware/porn/etc. Don't try to boost your search engine ranking by posting a link to your site. That kind of stuff will get you banned permanently.

Forum avatars for the Wayward Souls™ forums are not like avatars from other forums you may have seen. They serve to publicly connect the in-game personalities used by the players with their forum presence.

Signatures, while fairly standard practice for most forums, normally add nothing of value to a forum's content. As such, we have disabled signatures to streamline our forums and improve performance. This may change in the future depending on the demands of our customer base.

Affiliate Programs
The Wayward Souls™ Affiliate program is designed to allow people to advertise Wayward Souls™ on their web site and earn a commission on all sales generated through that link. You are not allowed to post your affiliate link anywhere on our forums. Anyone that does this may be removed from the affiliate program immediately without notice and may have their posting privelage revoked. This rule applies to all affiliate program links, not just our program.

Advertising Services and Solicitation
We do not allow people to post threads or to send private messages or emails to users here that advertise or solicit any products, services, funds or donations. Explicit advertising and solicitating in signatures is also prohibited.

Although the administrators and moderators of our forum will attempt to keep all objectionable materials out of our forum, it is impossible for us to review all messages. All messages express the views of the author, and neither the owners of this site nor its host will be held responsible for the content of any message posted by non-staff members.

Any disputes must be handled through our support ticket system.

Posting on this forum constitutes acceptance of these rules. By agreeing to these rules, you warrant that you will not post any messages that are obscene, vulgar, sexually-oriented, hateful, threatening, or otherwise violative of any laws.

Reserved Rights
We reserve the right to remove, edit, move or close any thread for any reason, including no reason. We reserve the right to update and modify these rules as the needs of the community dictate to ensure the smooth operation of this community.
